Fingersmith- Sarah Waters [SPOILERS]

For my first review on here, I want to talk about Fingersmith by Sarah Waters, and the absolute superfluity of emotions I experienced whilst reading this book. I finished Fingersmith in May, and I'm still finding myself thinking relentlessly about the plot, development, characters and overall atmosphere surrounding this absolutely godforsaken masterpiece .  Fingersmith follows the stories of Sue and Maud, and how their paths will ultimately cross in the end, despite having wildly different backgrounds. Sue, a victorian orphan, is drawn into a plot to defraud Maud, a wealthy heiress; throughout the entire first part of the novel, we are under the impression that Maud fully trusts Sue, and I found myself feeling almost sorry for the way I knew Maud was going to be betrayed by the girl she had grown close to. Hello ;)

Hi! Welcome to my brain, I suppose? I'm Caitlin and this is my blog, where I intend to talk about books, my job as a bookseller and my thoughts on current affairs in the book world. I've no doubt there will also be a plethora of entirely unrelated posts about the most random of things, so I'll apologise in advance for that. ⬅️ Me My two favourite books are: -The Book Thief (Markus Zusak) -You Could Be So Pretty (Holly Bourne). I work for an indie bookstore called The Rabbit Hole, where I get to enjoy every second of existence, and I'm a full-time student (sometimes). ⬅️ The Best Place On Earth I'm really not too sure what else to say, considering I'm not the most extraordinary person alive, but I hope you'll stick around for future posts, where I'll hopefully be a little more insightful.  -A Rat 🐀
